
Class Descriptions
​​​Kickboxing Circuit:
​​​
Description: Not your average "cardio kickboxing class". Rather, this class will give you a cardio workout, with a high emphasis on developing kickboxing skills. This circuit structure, including multiple stations helps develop varied aspects of stand-up fighting skills. Each person will also have one-on-one time and feedback.

BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu)
​
​Description: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling martial art that focuses on using leverage over strength.
GI attire: Traditional BJJ martial arts uniform with belt
No GI attire: Rash guard top with compression shorts or pants

Striking:
​
Description: This class focuses on stand-up fighting and will encompass any and all striking techniques, borrowing from disciplines such as, boxing/kickboxing, vadha kempo karate, muay thai, etc.

​
Open Mat:
​
Description: This is not a formal class, rather, it is a time set aside for open mat use. It can be used to drill techniques, hit bags, spar or roll.

The Woman Warrior Course:
​​
Description: The Woman Warrior Course is a one-hour self-defense seminar. It is offered on a monthly basis for free, but registration is required. This service can also be purchased as a corporate (or other) event at outside locations.

Special Seminars:
​Description: Empower Martial Arts and Self-Defense is more than a martial arts school. We also aim to Empower women and girls in all aspects of their lives. Special seminars will be offered on a multitude of topics and will be listed with detailed descriptions as they are offered. Seminars can also be purchased as a corporate (or other) event at outside locations.

Private Lessons:
​​​
Description: Private lessons are the perfect way to get individualized attention and work on your personal goals. A detailed game plan will be developed to outline your path to that goal and track your progress. Private lessons are also a great option for someone who can't make it to the regularly scheduled classes.
